Jewelry, Sculpture, & Ceramics

About the Artist

Sami Gota is a Sacramento-based jewelry and sculpture artist working intuitively to create both sculptural and wearable art. Focusing on the tactile nature of raw materials, as much as possible, Sami works in metals, gemstones, ceramic, glass, and wood.

“Suzue” translates to

Jingling Bell Branch

Suzue (Sue-Zoo-Eh) is Sami’s middle (Japanese) name, which translates to “Jingling Bell Branch”. A 4th generation Japanese-American/Californian and artist, Sami draws inspiration from her materials, Japanese cultural influences, and observations about the beauty of intricate details.

Sami will be doing jewelry making and care demonstrations at her private studio in South Land Park (6655 14th Street). The air-conditioned studio will have refreshments and a gallery with artwork available for sale.
